By the way, that thing inside the shell hanging from your neck isn't waterproof. So, you know, take it off before you get it wet. If you do get it totally soaked, just ask me what's inside.
As I rode off, I felt a little taller. True, the weight was off the back of the bike, but it was something else. I stood a little taller and rode a little taller, leaving your place.
As I rolled through the canyons and out over the valleys, through the massive cloverleaves of traffic, a great mountain range opened up before me. I removed my sunglasses, and they slipped away. Fair price to pay for giving you a ride. I'm quite impressed with you for moving from "BIKE!!!" to "Okay, giving me a ride?" so quickly.
I know we didn't get to say the things we necessarily wanted or needed to, but I think we both understand each other without really saying anything. I want you to know I'll be thinking about you a lot as I make my way through the desert and the ______ on out, and I hope you get everything you want out of your situation. Nothing would make me happier. I know our choices have gotten us where we are, but I also know we're really good at getting to where we need to be. So I think I'll be seeing you again pretty soon.
Love, joy, and admiration,
-_.
(PS: My fingers are tingling from the vibration of the engine's higher harmonics. Neat!)
